Sharing Your Research

Disseminate Research Work.jpg

Introduction

Sharing your research, also called dissemination, is an important part of the research process.  Even if your findings are null or unexciting, you owe it to your participants and the wider scientific community to share your work. Sharing research findings with stakeholders and wider audiences is useful and universities encourage this practice too.

Altmetric
“Altmetric is a data science company that tracks where published research is mentioned online, and provides tools and services to institutions, publishers, researchers, funders and other organisations to monitor this activity”.

Google Scholar Metrics
“Google Scholar Metrics provide an easy way for authors to quickly gauge the visibility and influence of recent articles in scholarly publications”.

Open access journals
It can be expensive to publish your research these days because many journals take a fee from the researcher's academic institution. However, there are still publications where it remains free to publish. A list of these is on the Psychreg website

SSRN
“Social Science Research Network (SSRN) is devoted to the rapid worldwide dissemination of research and is composed of a number of specialised research networks”.
